Estimate the value of unanswered customer calls from three things: your business type, the calls you miss in a typical week and what an average job brings in. Adjust the assumptions to see what better follow-up could win back.

Revenue, not profit. It depends on how quickly and well you follow up.
The same numbers with a different share won back. The two outer rows are set as a share of your selected recovery; change them if you like.

How the estimate works
There is no hidden data behind the result. The calculator multiplies the numbers you give it and writes the sum out under your estimate.
Step 1
You tell us how many calls go unanswered in a typical week. Choosing your business type fills in a typical starting number, which you can change.
Step 2
Missed calls times the share of callers who would have booked gives the jobs at stake. Times your average revenue per job gives the revenue that could be at stake each week, month and year.
Step 3
You will not win back every caller. A stated recovery share, 40% by default, gives the revenue better call handling might realistically recover.
Read this first
Not every missed call is a lost customer. Some callers leave a voicemail, some call back, and some were never going to book. The calculator states the shares it assumes (about one in five callers booking, and two in five of those won back) and lets you change them, so the result reflects your business.
The starting numbers for each business type are examples, not industry averages. Replace them with your own. A few minutes with your phone provider’s call log will make the result far more useful than any default.
Revenue is not profit. A job that brings in $300 does not leave $300 once labour and materials are paid, which is why every figure here is revenue, not profit.

Calls you miss in a week, times the share of those callers who would have booked, times what an average job brings in, gives the revenue that could be at stake each week. Multiplied by 52 it gives the year. A further share, 40% to start with, gives the revenue better call handling might win back.
No. The starting numbers for each business type are illustrative examples we wrote, not research or benchmarks. Change them to match your own business before you rely on the result.
No, and the calculator does not assume it does. It assumes only some missed callers would have booked (about one in five to start with, which you can change). Many callers leave a voicemail or call back, so the real figure may be lower than the headline.
No. Revenue is what a job brings in. Profit is what is left after the costs of doing it. The calculator shows revenue only. Your costs, such as labour and materials, come out of it before anything is left as profit.
Your phone provider’s online account or call log usually shows answered and missed calls, with times. Even a week of notes is a better starting point than a guess.
No. It shows what your own assumptions imply, nothing more. Recovering missed opportunities depends on how quickly and well you follow up, and on the callers themselves.
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your numbers are not sent to this website, saved, or shared with any other service.
